GRAND Illumination!

Scioto Mile lights

Friday night Libbi and I went to the Grand Illumination in downtown Columbus! It was a very crisp evening, and we both agreed that it was easiest to get in the Christmas spirit when the weather was cold. I know the snow is coming, but I was thankful on Friday that it hasn’t made its way here yet. We started at the new Scioto Mile, where a children’s chorus sang a few songs, Santa showed up, and finally the Mayor “flipped the switch” and illuminated downtown! It was a lot of fun, and the lights were gorgeous. While all of the younger children were waiting to see Santa, we decided to head back up to Columbus Commons, where every tree was decorated a different color and they were giving away free hot chocolate and cookies. We were so excited by most of the decorations that we had to stop and take pictures….

Columbus Commons--it was like Candy Land!

There were huge Christmas lights everywhere!
